And so continues the bad day. I went to bring in my schedule for next semester, only to find out that basically all the people from NYUL have been let go because they don’t have the hours.
It’s totally not fair because we should have at least been given a heads up, because this is literally the money I live off of. I get that they need people with a more open availability, but they knew who they were taking on, and what our schedules would be, when we were hired.
The last time I was unemployed was…oh…when I was 15?
Today was a really crap day. I can count like 6 things that went wrong right off the top of my head. But I just took a shower and put on my I Love London t-shirt, and just thought about how much I love being here, so I’m feeling a bit better.
Right now I’m going to finish watching Dirty Dancing (no shame) and then write in my journal for about 12 hours because I’m so bad at keeping up with it. Whoops.
On the bright side, I don’t actually have to be anywhere at any specific time tomorrow, so I’m going to enjoy sleeping in as much as I can!
Jet lag is the worsttttttt.
Yesterday, I had the flat to myself for a couple hours, which was really weird. But now Colbi, Rose, Cayla, and Helen are all here with me.
My jet lag sucked, but I destroyed it by going to sleep at 8 PM last night and waking up at 12 PM the next morning. :)
But it’s taken everything in me the last couple days to even get out of bed, and then I don’t know what to do. Maybe some of it is jet lag, but I don’t understand how I could be this mentally tired.
I hope that I get used to being home in the next couple days, because I really love hanging out with my friends and my mom.
I just wish I could take all these people back to London with me.
Today was my last day of the term at Argyle Primary School, but I wasn’t sure still if a lot of the kids liked me, because sometimes I have to discipline them and kids hold grudges. But when I got in today, Miss De Mel asked me to open the drawer to pass out cards for the kids, and when I opened it there was a stack of cards they made me…IT WAS SO CUTE! A lot of them said stuff like “To the best teacher ever.”

Then two of them made me stars that are now hanging up in my flat. And they kept asking me if I was “going forever.”
When I said I should be coming back next term, they all jumped in the air and yelled. I feel so loved. :)

You realize we have ice marshals too, only they’re buff black guys
Um…..not as awesome.
Going to the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park made me less sad that I missed the Guilford Fair this year. It was basically the same thing, but with Christmas decorations! The rides were better too, but they were wicked expensive… like £6 for this baby. I thought I was going to die.

The only downside was that it was super crowded, and at the beginning we had to literally push through people just to keep walking. But to counter that, there were no gross, smelly cows like at the Guilford Fair.
I thought ice skating was going to be the highlight of the night, but I forgot that ice skating HURTS SO MUCH. I couldn’t even go for the whole hour; I did maybe forty minutes. But something that America needs to get on is having “ice marshals,” which are mostly just super cute guys that can skate really well and then help you up when you fall.
I’m so ready for Christmas! Especially after this and decorating our flat.
